Relationships play a major component of our lives. In actuality, they make of the majority of our lives. We have them everywhere and in many forms. When it comes to creating wellness and health for ourselves, harmonizing our relationships is one way we can make drastic improvements in our state of being.
Exploring, practicing and learning tools for effective communication is a resource we can use to make positive changes in our relationships and in our lives. Communication has a direct impact on the way we feel in our relationships and is an avenue we can consciously use to create more love and understanding between us and those around us.
Let’s face it, communicating how we truly feel can be vulnerable and isn’t as easy as it sounds. It requires us to be fully in touch with our own thoughts and feelings, and to share that with another. At the same time, we must manage any internal triggers that may be coming up during conversation, which may show up in way of anger or a desire to flee. We can manage these triggers and responses by simply being aware of them and choosing to engage in conversation without letting anger or fear run the experience. This is applicable in our romantic partnerships, our family relationships, our work relationships, our friendships, and even in some day to day interactions. When we are triggered, it can be challenging to have a conversation from the heart. However, when we allow ourselves to do so, even when it is uncomfortable, it can lead to beneficial results.
Heart based communication is when we allow ourselves to express, share and receive from others while coming from our heart. When we come from our heart, we are not reacting from a place of anger or fear. We are grounded and in touch with ourselves. It is our heart that allows us to share how we truly feel. When we come from our heart, it allows us to be present with another and fully hear what they are saying. Coming from the heart makes it easier to move through an uncomfortable conversation and into a place of understanding, resolution and harmony.
If relationships are everywhere, wouldn’t we want them to be as harmonious as possible so that we are living in peace? The good news is that heart based communication is something that can be learned and it leads to positive results in our relationships and also in our bio-chemistry. It allows our heart rate to be stabilized and creates coherence between our heart and brain. Once we learn tools for effective communication, we will have countless opportunities to practice them throughout the rest of our lives. It is something that we can get better at over time, leading to a happier life over time. When we are happy and at peace, we are also on the path to health. Isn’t that something we all want?

Have you had the opportunity to experience first hand the amazing power of gratitude?
Many leading edge and spiritual teachers talk about the importance of gratitude when it comes to.... well, mostly everything. And here we are, talking again about gratitude and the vital role it plays in the improvement of your experience.
So cliche right? .... Gratitude is talked about so much, that many of us miss the practiced EXPERIENCE of it.
So, I am writing you today to invite you to INCREASE your levels of gratitude. Here is why:
1. Gratitude/Appreciation/Love is of the highest emotional caliber.
Believe it or not, our emotions have a significant effect upon our lives. While our life experiences influence how we feel, how we feel also influences our life experiences. We always have power, in the present moment, to harness our emotional energy, and to bring harmony into our feeling state. When we get into a a space of experiencing appreciation, it emits the highest vibrational fequency. This allows us to co-create with our higher power, and magnetizes more conscious amwareness of things to be grateful for.
2. Being rehersed in the experience of gratitude, allows us to be thankful for the good things in our life that we may otherwise miss.
Have you ever been complaining about something in your life, and then started to become aware of all the other things in your life that were worth complaining about? What about having the experience of crying about something, and then while you were crying, started to cry over many other things as well? ... If so, you're not alone. And the same thing can happen with gratitude. When we allow ourselves to really feel the feeling of being grateful, it expands our awareness to acknowledge the many other things that there is to be grateful for as well. The more you have to be grateful for, the more you have to be grateful for. If we are not reheresed in the experience of gratitude, we may be so busy complaining, that we don't even give the good things in our life much attention.
3. Gratitude allows us to get out of our head, and into our heart.
It's easy to experience life from a place of busy mind chatter. Thoughts tend to race, often causing a fragmented life experience. Part of us is in living the present moment, part of us is living in the past, part of us is living in the furture. Isn't that a jumbled way to live? Gratitude is a feeling. When we take the time to tune into our feelings (no matter what they are) we get our of our racing mind and into the present moment. Feeling appreciation and gratitude allows the present moment to align with love, possibility and Divine co-creation. This is heart based living.
So, I invite you to take a moment right now and explore the following:
Take an inventory of your recent predominant feelings.
Have you been spending time in gratitude? Have you been feeling fearful, having thoughts of scarcity, or even just feeling stuck and not sure which direction to proceed in? Be honest with yourself, and take inventory.
Make a Gratitude list.
This is best done if you could do it in nature as it will have a greater emotional impact. Either way, take the time to write down the things that you are grateful for. As you do this, breathe, and allow yourself to FEEL gratitude fully.
Savor the Feelings
Just bask in it. Let it linger as long as it will last. And then, as soon as you are able, repeat the process.
Life is so precious and truly has hidden blessings within everything. It is up to you to choose what your experience of life will be. Are you choosing to focus on the hardship, pain and stuggle? Or will you choose to focus upon the love that is available?
May you be nourished by the Divine spirit in every moment.
May you celebrate the little and big things in life.
May you continuously recognize and know that LIFE LOVES YOU.

We are all are participants on this journey that we call life, and what a journey it is! Since we have been born into these physical bodies, as an extension of spirit and mother Earth, we are gifted with the opportunity to LIVE, to FEEL, and to CREATE.
Sometimes this gift of life presents us with challenges, that to say the very least, can be uncomfortable, and dis-heartening. Even when life is going really well overall, there is usually a part of our life that may be encompassing a bit of a challenge. Even in the midst of challenges, we have the opportunity to continuously be evolving and growing.
What if your biggest life challenge, as it currently stands, has within it a Golden Opportunity? An opportunity that ends up being the gateway to what your heart has been yearning for. Curious to move THROUGH your challenge and into the Golden Opportunity? Here's how:
Take the time to go within and explore more in depth, your personal experience within the challenge. What is coming up for you? How do you feel? Is this something that has been presenting itself as a pattern for you? Are you willing to have this challenge turn out to be a success story?
Now that you are more aware of your own personal experience and have received some new insights regarding the situation, surrender it completely. Take the time to connect with you higher power, and offer this situation over completely to the Divine. The truth is that the universe is on your side and has your best interests at heart. When you surrender the situation over to the higher power, you allow room for miracles and love to take place.
3. Be Open to the Possibilities
When we are in the midst of a challenge, our minds often become determined in seeing only one or a few possible solutions. By being in this head space, it prevents us from being open to other solutions that are possible. After you have surrendered the situation over to the Divine, open your mind and heart, and be open to new possibilities. They will certainly present themselves, and if you remain open, you will find yourself in the experience of the new Golden Opportunity!
4. Take Action
When the Golden Opportunity presents itself, moving forward with it, will require action on your part. You may be required to say “Yes!”. You may be required to move forward with some sort of change. You may be required to hold yourself accountable for thinking, believing and behaving as a new and improved version of you! We all experience challenges in some form or another.
Your current challenge has within it, a Golden Opportunity. This opportunity may just be the coming together of your prolonged heart’s desires. Be open to it, and commit to doing the inner work to get to the breakthrough!
